General Tips

  • Always snap off and discard the tough ends of asparagus, and peel thick stalks before using
  • Cook asparagus spears in salted water until tender-crisp, then rinse with cold water to prevent further cooking
  • To speed up cooking of thick asparagus spears, cut an "x" into the bottom beforehand
